Short version

Go Rot runs locally. It has no account, analytics, telemetry, advertising, or developer-operated server. We do not collect, sell, or share your data.

What stays on your Mac

Go Rot stores the minimum information needed to operate:

This information is used only to provide Go Rot on your device. It is not sent to us or to a third party.

What Go Rot does not read

Go Rot does not read or store prompts, answers, source code, tool contents, cookies, browser history, authentication data, messages, likes, comments, or feed content.

Optional feed access

If you enable media control for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, or Instagram Reels, Go Rot uses Chrome's optional site permission locally to pause or resume the playing video and detect when the current clip changes or ends. It does not transmit page data.

Local companion

The extension exchanges content-free lifecycle events with the Go Rot macOS companion through Chrome Native Messaging on your computer. Local companion traffic is not sent over the internet.

Removal

Use the Go Rot setup app's removal action to remove agent hooks, the Native Messaging manifest, and local receiver configuration. Remove the Chrome extension to delete its Chrome-managed local storage.

Changes and questions

If this policy changes, the effective date above will change and the current policy will remain available here. Questions can be filed through Go Rot support.
